Conservation classes and NO single-use plastic free kit for the kids

Education is the most powerful weapon to change the world.

I’m so happy & proud to announce that from November, my friend Rose and the Gili Shark Conservation Project team will start to organize conservation classes for the children of Gili Air. But there is more; they want to give the children the tools to say “no” to plastic. It’s our dream to put together a “PlasticFreeParadise kit” which we will hand out to the kids during the conservation classes.

The “PlasticFreeParadise kit” contains a:
* A re-usable shopping bag
* A stainless steel water bottle
* A re-usable straw
* A bamboo toothbrush

We started a campaign to help them raise the money to make this dream possible.

“BE THE CHANGE! ” Gandhi

We fully support the Plastic Free Paradise campain of the Gili shark Conservation – Become Part of the Solution.

It’s easier to get free WI-FI than it is to get free water and some people still act like nothing is wrong with the world. Help us solve the plastic problem. Together, we can increase sustainability, have a lasting impact on the environment and keep the world beautiful.

They have created a network of water refill stations on Gili Air and encourage people to refill their water bottle instead of buying a new plastic bottle.
It’s up to the businesses if they want to offer water for free or for a small fee. The business is then showcased on the map of Refill Stations and will be added to ‘RefillMyBottle’ App. The businesses also receives a ‘RefillMyBottle’ sticker which makes them easily recognizable as a Refill Station.

The app shows all the Refill Stations around the Gili Islands and Bali based on your GPS location. Wherever you are, the app will locate the closest water refill station to your location and give you directions or contact information for the water station. Isn’t technology amazing?!
